Video hit cu titlul zilei de pe agenda politica externa

Video hit despre Conditia Umana

In this video is Iron Maiden performing Afraid to Shoot Strangers live from the Maiden England Tour at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Irvine, CA on August 9, 2012.
All copyrights belong to Iron Maiden and the record labels.
"Afraid to Shoot Strangers," a political song from the point of view of a soldier in the Gulf War, Dickinson would often introduce the song as an anti-war narrative.
Only two of the album's songs, the title track and "Afraid to Shoot Strangers", would survive on tours past 1993.
The lyrics:
Lying awake at night I wipe the sweat
from my brow
But it's not the fear 'cos
I'd rather go now

Trying to visualize the horrors that
will lay ahead
The desert sand mound a burial ground

When it comes to the time
Are we partners in crime?
When it comes to the time
We'll be ready to die

God let us go now and finish what's
to be done
Thy Kingdom Come
Thy shall be done... on earth

Trying to justify to ourselves the
reasons to go
Should we live and let live
Forget or forgive

But how can we let them go on this way?
The reign of terror corruption must end
And we know deep down there's
no other way
No trust, no reasoning, no more to say

Afraid to shoot strangers
Afraid to shoot strangers
The official video is here.

Video hit Garbage

Garbage - Only Happy When It Rains

Only Happy When It Rains is a song written and produced by alternative rock group Garbage for the band's self-titled debut studio album.
The song was recorded at the band's own recording studio, Smart Studios, in Madison, Wisconsin, being mixed twice before its release. The bleak content of the lyrics was intended as a parody of the angst filled themes present in mid-1990s alternative rock, as well as a sarcastic reference to Garbage's own preference for darker themes.
"Only Happy When it Rains" was released as the third single from the campaign for Garbage in both the United Kingdom (in September 1995) and North America (in February 1996), being issued in three formats vinyl, CD maxi, and cassette.
The song received positive reviews, praising the production and Shirley Manson's singing, and became the band's breakthrough single, charting strongly on both the UK Singles Chart and Billboard Hot 100. It also crossover to pop radio formats, propelling their debut album into the Top 100 of the Billboard 200 for the first time, and the song's music video, directed by Samuel Bayer, received much airplay on MTV.
"Only Happy When it Rains" has gone onto to be an enduring work for the group, being featured in the video game Guitar Hero 5 and receiving covers by Richard Cheese, Katerina Graham and Metallica.
Music video
The promotional video for "Only Happy When It Rains" was filmed in mid-January 1996 in Los Angeles by director Samuel Bayer, simultaneously with the video for single "Stupid Girl".
As Almo Sounds thought "Only Happy When It Rains" would be more successful, its video was given a higher budget than "Stupid Girl".
The video debuted in the United States on February 12, 1996, being certified one day later by MTV as a "Buzz clip", which would guarantee heavy rotation on their network.
The video begins a short prologue sequence with several children dressed in animal costumes playing in an overcast field, before cutting to Garbage upon the commencement of the song. Garbage are located in a litter-strewn warehouse, where the male members of the band destroy vinyl records, videotape and musical instruments as Manson performs to the camera. Some sequences feature Manson performing the song while on her own in dilapidated toilet stalls. The video ends with inter-cut footage of Manson joining the children on the field.
The "Only Happy When It Rains" video was first commercially released - along with out-take footage shot while filming - on VHS and Video-CD on 1996's Garbage Video.
A remastered version of the video was later included on Garbage's 2007 greatest hits DVD Absolute Garbage and made available as a digital download via online music services the same year.
The lyrics:
I'm only happy when it rains
I'm only happy when it's complicated
And though I know you can't appreciate it
I'm only happy when it rains

You know I love it when the news is bad
And why it feels so good to feel so sad
I'm only happy when it rains

Pour your misery down, pour your misery down on me
Pour your misery down, pour your misery down on me

I'm only happy when it rains
I feel good when things are going wrong
I only listen to the sad, sad songs
I'm only happy when it rains

I only smile in the dark
My only comfort is the night gone black
I didn't accidentally tell you that
I'm only happy when it rains

You'll get the message by the time I'm through
When I complain about me and you
I'm only happy when it rains

Pour your misery down (Pour your misery down)
Pour your misery down on me (Pour your misery down)
Pour your misery down (Pour your misery down)
Pour your misery down on me (Pour your misery down)
Pour your misery down (Pour your misery down)
Pour your misery down on me (Pour your misery down)
Pour your misery down

You can keep me company
As long as you don't care

I'm only happy when it rains
You wanna hear about my new obsession?
I'm riding high upon a deep depression
I'm only happy when it rains (Pour some misery down on me)

I'm only happy when it rains (Pour some misery down on me)
I'm only happy when it rains (Pour some misery down on me)
I'm only happy when it rains (Pour some misery down on me)
I'm only happy when it rains (Pour some misery down on me)

Video hit Duran Duran

Duran Duran - Big Thing (live)

Big Thing is the fifth album by Duran Duran, released worldwide in 1988. It reached #15 in the UK and #24 in the US.
A CD reissue (with one bonus track) was released in 1994. The album was reissued as a three disc boxset on 27 September 2010.
Dedication
For the first time in their career the band members decided to write personal dedication notes on the album sleeve thus thanking Alex Sadkin who had been killed in a car crash in late 1987, Andy Warhol, who had died in early 1987 and David Miles, a childhood friend of Le Bon's who died of an illegal drug cigarette during the album's creation.
My dedication is for a big fan of this song, Cornel Lucian Rusu from Suceava.
Background
In 1988, the musical climate was changing, veering to a more dance-based groove. Duran Duran were known primarily as an early '80s new wave synth-pop act, and the band was sitting at a career crossroads; Big Thing was their stab at maintaining mainstream popularity.
Turning to more synth- and bass-heavy grooves than their previous efforts, Big Thing was seen by many as the band's "house music" album. Tracks like the first single "I Don't Want Your Love", the title track, and the album's second single "All She Wants Is" cemented the band's more aggressive dance angle.
To get the new music played without preconceived 'teeny bopper band' notions of Duran Duran, the band sent an edited three minute version of album tracks "The Edge Of America" and "Lake Shore Driving" to radio stations, known as "Official Bootleg: The LSD Edit". The promo was credited to "The Krush Brothers", which the band also used in a few surprise live dates.
Dance music and stylist respellings aside, Big Thing was an album of contrasts. While the general feel was a response to the burgeoning house music and rave scene, a number of tracks on the album harked back to the band's more lush arrangements. Tracks like "Land", "Palomino" and the single "Do You Believe In Shame?" had more in common with "Save A Prayer" or "The Seventh Stranger" than with Chicago house.
The lyrics:
Get it up get it out get it in time
Hang it up hanging out hanging on a big thing
Move it in move it out move up the line
Bang it up bang it out banging on a big thing

Brothers and sisters let me hear it
Get it up get it on get it in time
Give me the green light and watch me move it
Move it up move it out move up the line
This is temptation power rotation
Give me the friction and watch me make it
Make it up making out making it slide

So glad you came along
This time you won't be wrong
You love to turn it on
And you'renot the only one

Brothers and sisters we can take it
Shake it up shake it out shake it all the time
Give me the suction we can stick it
Lick it up suck it up stick it outside
This is temptation (station)
Power rotation (to station)
Give me the playlist and watch me eat it
Eat it up beat it up beat it in time

So glad you came along
This time you won't be wrong
You love to turn it on
And you'renot the only one

Get it up get it out get it in time
Hang it up hanging out hanging on a big thing
Move it in move it out move up the line
Bang it up bang it out banging on a big thing

Get it up get it out get it in time
Hang it up hanging out hanging on a big thing
Move it in move it out move up the line
Bang it up bang it out banging on a big thing

Video hit Dido

Dido - End of Night

End of Night is a song by English singer-songwriter Dido. The song was released on 5 May 2013 as the second single (third overall) from her fourth studio album Girl Who Got Away (2013).
The song was written by Dido Armstrong and Greg Kurstin.
On Twitter Dido said "end of night the person i wrote this about is, well was, a friend... they have heard the song and love it and have no idea it's about them!".
On Twitter @ShanLovegood_TW asked "what is your favourite part of End Of Night?", Dido said "end of night you were ugly when the beat kicked in and ugly when it left... and the chorus! i wrote it in 2010 but i still love it. X”.
The video shows Dido walking through a haunting mansion surrounded by dancers. The video starts with a shot of the mansion and then shows Dido sitting on a bed singing with a dancer standing behind her, she then walks out of the room into another room full of dancers, she then goes outside where there are more dancers.
In April 2013 Dido performed "End of Night" for the first time live on German late-night television comedy talk show TV total.
On 23 April 2013 she performed the song live German television programme Morgenmagazin (English: Morning Show).
On 30 April 2013 she performed the song live on British music television show Later... with Jools Holland.
The lyrics:
Only now its gone
I can see the year
See for what it was
And start another day
All the liberty you took
The love that you abused
The friends that you turned
Against me if you could
And youre twisting what I say
All that saying you were scared
It doesnt matter anymore
Cos Im not there
You were careless when the beat kicked in
And careless when it left
And careless all the way
I didnt see it till the end

I feel nothing
When you cry
I hear nothing
See no need to reply
I can smile now
And turn away
Come over here
So you can see me walk away
And celebrate
The end of night
The end of night

It only takes one lie
To bring this house down
Behind closed doors
No one tells the first time round
Pain is worse when you bring it on yourself
The sweetest bully building
A love that couldnt last
You were ugly when the beat kicked in
And ugly when it left
And ugly all the way, I didnt see it till the end

I feel nothing
When you cry
I hear nothing
See no need to reply
I can smile now
And turn away
Come over here
So you can see me walk away
And celebrate
The end of night
The end of night

After the fall comes love
I hate to hate and love to love

I feel nothing
When you cry
I hear nothing
See no need to reply
I can smile now
And turn away
Come over here
So you can see me walk away
And celebrate
The end of night
The end of night

Video hit The Cranberries

The Cranberries - When You're Gone

When You're Gone is a rock ballad recorded by Irish band The Cranberries. It is the third single from their third studio album entitled To the Faithful Departed.
A video clip directed by Karen Bellone was released at the end of 1996.
The song was first played during the North American leg of the No Need to Argue Tour in the Fall of 1994.
The lyrics:
Give it up

Hold on to love, that is what I do
Now that I've found you
And from above, everything's stinking
They're not around you
And in the night I could be helpless
I could be lonely slipping without you

And in the day, everything's complex
There's nothing simple when I'm not around you
But I miss you, when you're gone
That is what I do, hey baby, baby
It's hard to carry on, that is what I do, hey baby
Give it up

Hold on to my hands
I feel I'm sinking, sinking without you
And to my mind, everything's stinking
Stinking without you
And in the night I could be helpless
I could be lonely, slipping without you

Hold on to love, that is what I do
Now that I've found you
And from above, everything's stinking
They're not around you
And in the night I could be helpless
I could be lonely slipping without you

Hey baby

The lyrics:
I'm sorry for the times that I made you scream
For the times that I killed your dreams
For the times that I made your whole world rumble

For the times that I made you cry
For the times that I told you lies
For the times that I watched and let you stumble

It's too bad, but that's me
What goes around comes around, you'll see
That I can carry the burden of pain
'cause it ain't the first time that a man goes insane
And when I spread my wings to embrace him for life
I'm suckin' out his love, 'cause I, I'll never be nobody's wife

I'm sorry for the times that I didn't come home
Left you lyin' in that bed alone
Was flyin' high in the sky when you needed my shoulder

You're like a stone hangin' round my neck, see
Cut it loose before it breaks my back, see
I've gotta say what I feel before I grow older

I'm sorry but I ain't gonna change my ways
You know I've tried but I'm still the same
I've got to do it my own way

It's too bad, but hey, that's me
What goes around comes around, you'll see
That I can carry the burden of pain
'cause it ain't the first time that a man goes insane
And when I spread my wings to embrace him for life
I'm suckin' out his love, I, I'll never be nobody's wife

It's too bad, but hey, that's me
What goes around comes around, you'll see
That I can carry the burden of pain
'cause it ain't the first time that a man goes insane
And when I spread my wings to embrace him for life
I'm suckin' out his love, I, I'll never be nobody's wife

Albumul in versiunea data a fost deja lansat in Romania sub egida casei de discuri MediaPro Music. La 12 aprilie 2013, in legendarul Hard Rock Cafe Bucuresti, in cadrul unui concert de amploare, formatia si-a prezentat noul material muzical publicului din Romania. In decursul acestui an, albumul urmeaza a fi, de asemenea, lansat in Rusia si Ucraina.
Colaborarea Orange si Zdob si Zdub a inceput in anul 2001, cand a fost lansat primul produs comun Tempo. Dupa acesta a urmat prestatia trupei sustinuta de Orange in cadrul concertelor organizate de Hramul municipiului Chisinau, festivalul de muzica „Chipuri de prieteni”, Eurovision 2011.
Versurile:
La o margine de lume,

Unde Dumnezeu a vrut,
Într-o zi inseninata,
Moldovenii s-au nascut

Printre codri si coline,
Lânga Nistru, lânga Prut,
Într-o zi cu voie buna,
Moldovenii…

La o margine de lume,
Unde Dumnezeu a vrut,
Într-o zi cu voie buna,
Moldovenii s-au nascut

Unde soarele rasare,
Unde grâul e crescut,
Lânga udaturi de poame,
Moldovenii s-au nascut

Unde pasarile cânta,
Unde pestele nu-i mut,
Lânga turma de oi dalbe,
Moldovenii…

La o margine de lume,
Unde Dumnezeu a vrut,
Într-o zi cu voie buna,
Moldovenii s-au nascut

Moldovenii s-au nascut

Unde Dumnezeu a vrut,
Într-o zi cu voie buna,
Moldovenii s-au nascut

Moldovenii s-au nascut
La-la-la-la-la…

Unde doina-i auzita,
Unde jocul e vazut,
Într-o zi cu voie buna,
Moldovenii s-au nascut

Unde pâinea e cinstita,
Unde omul? crezut,
Într-o zi cu voie buna,
Moldovenii…

La o margine de lume,
Unde Dumnezeu a vrut,
Într-o zi cu voie buna,
Moldoveniï s-au nascut

Video hit Tom Waits

Tom Waits - On the Nickel

On the Nickel by Tom Waits, with pictures of him, the Nickel and random people.
"On the Nickel" was recorded for the Ralph Waite film of the same name.
"Heartattack and Vine" was covered by Screamin' Jay Hawkins. In 1993 this version was used without Waits' permission in a Levi's commercial, for which Waits took legal action and won a settlement.
The lyrics:
Sticks and stones will break my bones
but I always will be true
and when your Mama´s dead and gone, I'll sing this lullaby just for you
And what becomes of all the little boys
Who never comb their hair
They're lined up all around the block, on the nickel over there.

So better bring a bucket, there is a hole in the pail
And if you don't get my letter, then you'll know that I'm in jail
and what becomes of all the little boys
who never say their prayers
They're sleepin' like a baby,
on the nickel over there.

And if you chew tobacco and wish upon a star,
You'll find out where the scarecrows sit, just like punchlines between the cars
And I know a place where a royal flush can never beat a pair
And even Thomas Jefferson
is on the nickel over there.

So ring around a rosie, you're sleepin' in the rain
And you're always late for supper
And man you let me down again
I thought I heard a mockingbird
Roosevelt knows where, you can skip the line with Grady Tuck,
on the nickel over there.

So what becomes of all the little boys
Who run away from home
The world just keeps gettin' bigger, once you get out on your own
So here's to all the little boys
The sandman takes you where you'll be sleepin' with the pillowman
On the nickel over there.

So climb up through that buttonhole, and fall right up the stairs
And i'll show you where the short dogs grow
On the nickel over there.

Video hit rar cu Leonard Cohen

Leonard Cohen - First We Take Manhattan (RARE)

BABY, BABY, BABY, BABY – A MOVING PICTURE’S CUT OF FIRST WE TAKE MANHATTAN
A Moving Picture, directed by Jurgen Lutz, features an early version of Leonard Cohen’s First We Take Manhattan. As a further enticement to Cohen fans, the segment of the film shown in the video below includes Leonard Cohen playing the role of Leonard Cohen.

Described in its promotional material as a “romantic dance fantasy,” A Moving Picture (filmed in 1987 and released in 1989) is built on the choreography of Anne Ditchburn.

THE LYRICS VARIATION
The final verse of First We Take Manhattan from the I’m Your Man album (released in 1988) follows:
Ah remember me, I used to live for music
Remember me, I brought your groceries in
Well it’s Father’s Day and everybody’s wounded
First we take Manhattan, then we take Berlin

The final verse of First We Take Manhattan from A Moving Picture (filmed in 1987) follows:

Baby, baby, baby, baby, don’t refuse me
After all, I brought your groceries in
And I’m guided now, I’m guided by your beauty.
First we take Manhattan, then we take Berlin

By my assessment, the shift in words, especially as sung in the film, makes this version sexier (not to mention way cool) but less effective than the album.

THE VIDIOSYNCRATIC FIRST WE TAKE MANHATTAN
First We Take Manhattan plays a role in many videos that range from severe to silly. Roman Gavrilin, aka Hermitage Prisoner has provided an enlightening playlist of many of these at First We Take Manhattan Playlist.

EVOLUTION OF FIRST WE TAKE MANHATTAN & ITS VIDEOS
The background of the writing of First We Take Manhattan and commentary on the videos it has spawned is available, albeit not in final form, at Taking Manhattan & Making Videos: Leonard Cohen’s First We Take Manhattan & Its Videos

Credit Due Department: I was alerted to existence of the variant version of Leonard Cohen’s First We Take Manhattann in “A Moving Picture” by Jugurtha Harchaoui, who also located the DVD.
The lyrics:
They sentenced me to twenty years of boredom
For trying to change the system from within
I'm coming now, I'm coming to reward them
First we take Manhattan, then we take Berlin

I'm guided by a signal in the heavens
I'm guided by this birthmark on my skin
I'm guided by the beauty of our weapons
First we take Manhattan, then we take Berlin

I'd really like to live beside you, baby
I love your body and your spirit and your clothes
But you see that line there moving through the station?
I told you, I told you, told you, I was one of those

Ah you loved me as a loser, but now you're worried that I just might win
You know the way to stop me, but you don't have the discipline
How many nights I prayed for this, to let my work begin
First we take Manhattan, then we take Berlin

I don't like your fashion business mister
And I don't like these drugs that keep you thin
I don't like what happened to my sister
First we take Manhattan, then we take Berlin

I'd really like to live beside you, baby ...

And I thank you for those items that you sent me
The monkey and the plywood violin
I practiced every night, now I'm ready
First we take Manhattan, then we take Berlin

I am guided

Ah remember me, I used to live for music
Remember me, I brought your groceries in
Well it's Father's Day and everybody's wounded
First we take Manhattan, then we take Berlin

NaОtre les couleurs do jour.

Je me sentirais perdu,
J'aurais besoin de toi.

Et si tu n'existais pas,
Dis-moi comment j'existerais.
Je pourrais faire semblant d'Кtre moi,
Mais je ne serais pas vrai.

Et si tu n'existais pas,
Je crois que je l'aurais trouve,
Le secret de la vie, le pourquoi,
Simplement pour te creer
Et pour te regarder.

Video hit Lionel Richie & Kenny Rogers

Lionel Richie & Kenny Rogers - Lady (live, rare version)

The story of the song is in the introduction speech of Kenny Rogers. It’s an amazing story. Take a look at the video.
The lyrics:
Lady, I'm your knight in shining armor and I love you
You have made me what I am and I am yours
My love, there's so many ways I want to say I love you
Let me hold you in my arms forever more

You have gone and made me such a fool
I'm so lost in your love
And oh, we belong together
Won't you believe in my song?

Lady, for so many years I thought I'd never find you
You have come into my life and made me whole
Forever let me wake to see you each and every morning
Let me hear you whisper softly in my ear

In my eyes I see no one else but you
There's no other love like our love
And yes, oh yes, I'll always want you near me
I've waited for you for so long

Lady, your love's the only love I need
And beside me is where I want you to be
'Cause, my love, there's somethin' I want you to know
You're the love of my life, you're my lady

Video hit Soul Asylum

Soul Asylum - Runaway Train

Runaway Train is a song by American rock band Soul Asylum. It was released in June 1993 as the fourth single from the album, Grave Dancers Union. The song led Soul Asylum to international status, and helped bring their album, Grave Dancers Union to a multi-platinum level. It was the third single off that album and reached number five on the Billboard Hot 100. The track won a Grammy Award for Best Rock Song in 1994.
The music video, directed by Tony Kaye received heavy airplay on MTV and VH1 during its duration.
Several versions of the video were made. The video for the United States begins with a fade to a black screen with big, white blocked text reading: "There are over one million youth lost on the streets of America", whereas the UK version begins with "100,000 youth are lost on the streets of Britain". Next shown is a drawing of a girl, and a Dave Pirner voice-over says that the drawing is by a girl who had run away more than 110 times. The scene was often omitted when the video was shown, a common practice when videos had additional footage before or after the song.
After Pirner spoke, the video continued with various shots of the band playing the song, and Dave singing. Three concrete scenes are shown interspersed among the other images of the video. During the first verse, a child is shown witnessing his grandfather beating, and eventually killing, his grandmother, and running from their house in fear. During the second verse, a young teenage girl is pimped as a prostitute, and is initially purchased by the aforementioned abuser. Later, she is dragged into a van by a gang, after which she is picked up by paramedics, having been raped and beaten. During the coda of the song, a baby is snatched from his stroller by an older woman, with his mother running after the kidnapper's car.
Throughout the music video, various images of children running, or appearing with injuries from abuse, are shown. During the choruses, pictures of missing children would appear on the screen. After each picture was shown, their full name would appear in large capital letters on the screen, along with the year they had been "missing since...".
After the video, in an ending also not regularly shown, Pirner says in front of the camera, "If you've seen one of these kids, or you are one of them, please call this number," with the following screen showing a number one could contact. MTV cut this part out because they did not want to have the video confused with being a public service announcement. VH1 shows the UK version in its full length.
There were three original versions of the video in the United States, totaling 36 missing children shown.
Depending on what country the video was being broadcast, they would show children from that area who are missing.
The version shown in Australia showed a number of young backpacking tourists whose families were looking for them. Several of them turned out to be victims of Ivan Milat, the Backpacker Murderer.
The video was successful in reuniting many of the missing children with their families.
In 2006, guitarist Dan Murphy stated in an interview with Pasadena Weekly that some of children who were found were not returned to the best of conditions: "Some weren’t the best scenarios. I met a fireman on the East Coast whose daughter was in the end of the video, and he’d been in a bitter custody battle with his wife over her,” Murphy said. “It turned out the girl hadn’t run away, but was killed and buried in her backyard by her mother. Then on tour, another girl told us laughingly ‘You ruined my life’ because she saw herself on the video at her boyfriend’s house and it led her being forced back into a bad home situation.”
The UK version of the video featured Vicky Hamilton and Dinah McNicol, who each went missing in 1991. Their remains were found in 2007 at a house in Margate. Peter Tobin has since been convicted of both murders.
Curtis Huntzinger, who was featured in the US video, was located deceased in 2008. His convicted killer, Stephen Daniel Hash, is currently serving a sentence of 11 years for manslaughter in Folsom State Prison.
The last image in all three U.S. versions of the song is Thomas Dean Gibson, who disappeared from Glendale, Oregon, in 1991 at the age of 2. He is still missing as of 2013, and an age-progressed photo of him at age 19 was released in 2009 by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Also featured in the video, but still missing in 2013 were Byron Page, Wilda Benoit, Christopher Kerze, and Martha Dunn.
The lyrics:
Call you up in the middle of the night
Like a firefly without a light
You were there like a slow torch burning
I was a key that could use a little turning

So tired that I couldn't even sleep
So many secrets I couldn't keep
Promised myself I wouldn't weep
One more promise I couldn't keep

It seems no one can help me now
I'm in too deep
There's no way out
This time I have really led myself astray

Runaway train never going back
Wrong way on a one way track
Seems like I should be getting somewhere
Somehow I'm neither here nor there

Can you help me remember how to smile
Make it somehow all seem worthwhile
How on earth did I get so jaded
Life's mystery seems so faded

I can go where no one else can go
I know what no one else knows
Here I am just drownin' in the rain
With a ticket for a runaway train

Everything is cut and dry
Day and night, earth and sky
Somehow I just don't believe it

Runaway train never going back
Wrong way on a one way track
Seems like I should be getting somewhere
Somehow I'm neither here nor there

Bought a ticket for a runaway train
Like a madman laughin' at the rain
Little out of touch, little insane
Just easier than dealing with the pain

Runaway train never comin' back
Wrong way on a one way track
Seems like I should be getting somewhere
Somehow I'm neither here nor there

Runaway train never comin' back
Runaway train tearin' up the track
Runaway train burnin' in my veins
Runaway but it always seems the same

Video hit Aerosmith

Aerosmith - Dream On (live, 2012)

Dream On is a power ballad by Aerosmith from their 1973 debut album, Aerosmith.
Written by lead singer Steven Tyler, this song became their first major hit and classic rock radio staple.
Released in June 1973, it peaked at number 59 nationally but hit big in the band's native Boston, where it was the number 1 single of the year on the less commercial top 40 station, WBZ-FM, number 5 for the year on highly rated Top 40 WRKO-AM and number 16 on heritage Top 40 WMEX-AM.
The chorus of the song was famously sampled in the 2003 song Sing for the Moment by rapper Eminem.
It is also associated with the Boston Red Sox baseball organization and Warner Bros. Entertainment and its divisions (Cartoon Network, DC Comics, Hanna-Barbera and Looney Tunes).
"Dream On" was first played live in Mansfield, Connecticut at the Shaboo Inn. In a 2011 interview, Steven Tyler reminisced about his father, a Juilliard-trained musician. He recalled lying beneath his dad's piano as a three-year-old listening to him play classical music. "That's where I got that Dream On chordage," he said.
Steven Tyler says that this was the only song on the band's first album where he used his "real" voice. He was insecure about how his voice sounded on tape, so for the other songs, he tried to sing a bit lower and sound more like soul artists, such as James Brown. The song is also famous for its building climax to showcase Tyler's trademark screams.
The song "Dream On" is part of the The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll list. It is also ranked #172 on Rolling Stone's list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.
On February 25, 2013, Massachusetts State Representative James Cantwell (D) of Marshfield and Massachusetts State Representative Josh S. Cutler (D) of Duxbury drafted a bill to name "Dream On" the Official State Rock song of Massachusetts.
Other covers
Ronnie James Dio, Yngwie Malmsteen, Stu Hamm, Gregg Bissonette and Paul Taylor covered the song for the Aerosmith tribute album Not the Same Old Song and Dance (Eagle Records, 1999). Additional guitars were by the album's producers Bob Kulick and Bruce Bouillet.
Danny Gokey sang this song on American Idol Season 8 in 2009 during the Top 4 round. He received negative reviews from the judges, and was also mocked in many media outlets for an long, ear-splitting scream at the end of the song.
The song was sampled by American rapper Eminem for his song "Sing for the Moment", from his 2002 album The Eminem Show. Joe Perry played the guitar solo on the track and Steven Tyler also sang the chorus for the track and Eminem said "sing", "sing with me" and "come on" in the chorus.
"Dream On" was covered by the American rock band Train on an episode of the MTV show, Icon that was dedicated to Aerosmith.
The song was re-made by Andru Donalds as the cover song for his album of the same name.
"Dream On" was covered by The Mission on their album Children.
"Dream On" was also covered by Fisher on their Uppers & Downers dual-disc album. The cover version performed by Fisher was featured in the series-finale episode of the NBC drama Windfall.
Michael Angelo Batio also made an instrumental cover of this song in his album Hands Without Shadows.
blessthefall covered "Dream On" on the compilation cover album Punk Goes Classic Rock, which is part of the Punk Goes... series.
The song was remixed by Immortal Technique on his song "Angels & Demons", on his album The Martyr.
In 2011, Reece Mastin, X Factor Australia winner, covered this song for his eponymous album.
American post-grunge band Cold covered this song which later appeared on their fifth album Superfiction as bonus track.
Instrumental jazz cover on this song was performed by Alex Skolnick Trio on their album Goodbye to Romance: Standards for a New Generation in 2002.
Amanda Brown sang this song in the live playoffs of season 3 of The Voice U.S..
Greg X. Volz formerly of Petra covered this song on the album "Come Out Fighting" in 1988
Andy Mac Unfraidh performed the song during the live shows of second series of The Voice of Ireland.
The lyrics:
Every time I look in the mirror
All these lines on my face getting clearer
The past is gone
It went by, like dusk to dawn
Isn't that the way
Everybody's got their dues in life to pay

Yeah, I know nobody knows
where it comes and where it goes
I know it's everybody's sin
You got to lose to know how to win

Half my life's
in books' written pages
Lived and learned from fools and
from sages
You know it's true
All the things come back to you

Sing with me, sing for the year
Sing for the laughter, sing for the tear
Sing with me just for today
Maybe tomorrow, the good lord will take you away

Yeah, sing with me, sing for the year
sing for the laughter, sing for the tear
sing with me, just for today
Maybe tomorrow, the good Lord will take you away

Dream On Dream On Dream On
Dream until your dream comes true
Dream On Dream On Dream On
Dream until your dream comes through
Dream On Dream On Dream On
Dream On Dream On
Dream On Dream On, AHHHHHHH

Sing with me, sing for the year
sing for the laughter, sing for the tear
sing with me just for today
Maybe tomorrow, the good Lord will take you away
Sing with me, sing for the year
sing for the laughter, sing for the tear
Sing with me just for today
Maybe tomorrow, the good Lord will take you away......
