Video hit Faith No More

Faith No More - Ashes to Ashes

"Ashes to Ashes" is the seventh track on Faith No More's sixth and final studio album Album of the Year.
It was the album's first single and was released on May 19, 1997.
When asked about the song, Billy Gould replied:
The bulk of that song was written the first week. We arranged it here, and then we sent Patton a tape. He was in Italy, but he came up with the lyrics and the singing right away. It was one of those songs that just clicked - one of those songs that we do most naturally. That's our sound”.
It was reissued on January 8, 1998.
The lyrics:
I want them to know it's me
It's on my head
I'll point the finger at me
It's on my head
Give it all to you
Then I'll be closer
Smiling with the mouth of the ocean
And I'll wave to you with the arms of the mountain
I'll see you

I will let you shout no more
It's on my head
I'll pick you up from the floor
It's on my head
Give it all to you
Then I'll be closer
Smiling with the mouth of the ocean
And I'll wave to you with the arms of the mountain
I'll see you

Give the same to me then I'll be closer, closer
Give the same to me then I'll be closer, closer
Smiling with the mouth of the ocean
And I'll wave to you with the arms of the mountain

Give the same to me then I'll be closer

The lyrics:
You and I - bloodlines
We come together every time
Two wrongs, no rights
We lose ourselves at night

From the outside, from the outside
Everyone must be wondering why we try
Why do we try

Baby in our wildest moments
We could be the greatest, we could be the greatest
Baby in our wildest moments
We could be the worst of all
Baby in our wildest moments
We could be the greatest, we could be the greatest
Baby in our wildest moments
We could be the worst of all

Wait on, thunder sky
Wherever theres smoke, there'll soon be fire
What could bring bad luck
Ive been looking at you too much

From the outside, from the outside
Everyone must be wondering why we try
Why do we try

Baby in our wildest moments
We could be the greatest, we could be the greatest
Baby in our wildest moments
We could be the worst of all
Baby in our wildest moments
We could be the greatest, we could be the greatest
Baby in our wildest moments
We could be the worst of all

In the middle of it
We walk, we walk the line
Looking back i miss it
Our wildest moments
Are you thinking what if
What if we ruined it all
My wrecking ball

From the outside, from the outside
Everyone must be wondering why we try
Why do we try

Baby in our wildest moments
We could be the greatest, we could be the greatest
Baby in our wildest moments
We could be the worst of all
Baby in our wildest moments
We could be the greatest, we could be the greatest
Baby in our wildest moments

We could be the worst of all

Video hit Iyeoka Okoawo

Iyeoka Okoawo - Simply Falling

Iyeoka Okoawo is a Nigerian-American poet, recording artist, singer, activist, educator and TEDGlobal Fellow. Her music includes elements from soul, R&B, rock, hip hop, and jazz.
A first-generation Nigerian American, Iyeoka Okoawo was a practicing pharmacist before launching her musical career.
She began her musical career by founding the group The Rock by Funk Tribe, a collective of musicians that enabled her to interweave her poetry with jazz, blues, funk, and gospel. In 2004, she released her first solo full-length album of poem-songs, called Black and Blues, through Phanai Records. Then she began to tour and appeared on other artists’ albums, including The Press Project’s Get Right album and Memoirs of the Tempo by Tempo Valley.
In 2008, Iyeoka released her second album of poetry and music fusion, Hum The Bass Line, again on Phanai Records.
That same year, Iyeoka made a cover of U2′s hit song “Desire” for a compilation of U2 covers called In The Name Of Love: Africa Celebrates U2. The album featured Grammy Award-winning/nominated African artists, including Angelique Kidjo, Les Nubians, Sierra Leone's Refugee All Stars, Vieux Farka Touré, Vusi Mahlasela and the Soweto Gospel Choir, with proceeds benefiting the Global Fund.
In 2009, Iyeoka decided to transform her sound and songwriting approach and began working with producer David Franz (in collaboration with her original producer, Francis Phan) to create more traditional song forms. Iyeoka released two EPs that year: This Time Around and Run Into the Rain. The new music infused more pop, R&B, dance, and hip hop into the mix, creating an “electronic soul” sound.
In November 2010, Iyeoka released her new album, Say Yes, containing nine songs and two poems, through the Underground Sun artist development company. It is the first “Evolving Album(tm)” where purchasers will receive added content for free as the album evolves. Before the album’s release, the first song, “The Yellow Brick Road Song”, was featured in an episode of the new hit HBO series How To Make It In America.
"The Yellow Brick Road Song" is being used as the theme song for the series "Fairly Legal" that premiered January 20, 2011, on USA Network.
In January 2011, Iyeoka was nominated in The 10th Annual Independent Music Awards for her song "This Time Around" in the R&B Song category.
Iyeoka is currently touring in support of the new album and her poetry. In the past, she has toured in support of artists such as Femi Kuti, Zap Mama and Soulive, as well as played musical festivals, including Bonnaroo. The buzz surrounding her poetry has also garnered her national attention through performances at the TBS Trumpet Awards, the Sullivan Honors Awards at the Kennedy Center and Russell Simmons’ Def Poetry Jam on HBO.
The lyrics:
There goes my heart again
All of this time I thought we were pretending
Nothing looks the same when your eyes are open
Now you're playing these games to keep my heartbeat spinning
You show me love, you show me love
You show me everything my heart is capable of
You reshape me like butterfly origami

You have broken into my heart
This time I feel the blues have departed
Nothing can keep me away from this feeling
I know I am simply falling for you

I'm taking time to envision where your heart is
And justify why you're gone for the moment
I tumble sometimes, looking for sunshine
And you know this is right when you look into my eyes
You show me love, you show me love
You show me everything my heart is capable of
And now I can't break away from this fire that we started

You have broken into my heart
This time I feel the blues have departed
Nothing can keep me away from this feeling
I know I am simply falling for you

There my heart goes again
In your arms I'm falling deeper

And there's nothing to break me away from this

Video hit Webb Sisters

Webb Sisters and Leonard Cohen - If it be your will (Live in London)

The Webb Sisters are a musical duo comprising the siblings Charley and Hattie Webb who are from Kent, England.
Charley Webb and Hattie Webb were born in Kent, UK, to an entrepreneur-drumming father and a tennis coach mother.
They have two brothers, Brad Webb and Rocco Rands-Webb, who are both drummers. According to Charley, music often blared from all over the house.
Although Charley became briefly interested with being an ambulance driver, the sisters early on decided on a career in music.
Hattie plays the harp and mandolin, and Charley the guitar, clarinet, and piano.
When they were teenagers, the pair began to give recitals all over the country, and played at, among others, charity functions, parties, and played twice for Princess Anne and once for Queen Elizabeth II.
They met Johnny Pierce, a record producer who invited them to Nashville, where they recorded their debut album, Piece of Mind. After six months, they went to California, selling the album at their gigs. They were soon discovered and were offered a publishing deal by Windswept Pacific Publishing, and, soon afterward, they signed a record deal with Universal Records.
The Cohen influences were evident on two songs written by the acclaimed singer-songwriter: Show Me The Place and If It Be Your Will. With the latter song, this is arguably the track that most people would associate with The Webb Sisters.
During his concert tours, Cohen generously allowed the sisters to arrange the song and then sing it by themselves.
A rendition is shown in the video.
The lyrics - by Leonard Cohen:
If it be your will
That I speak no more
And my voice be still
As it was before
I will speak no more
I shall abide until
I am spoken for
If it be your will

If it be your will
That a voice be true
From this broken hill
I will sing to you
From this broken hill
All your praises they shall ring
If it be your will
To let me sing

If it be your will
If there is a choice
Let the rivers fill
Let the hills rejoice
Let your mercy spill
On all these burning hearts in hell
If it be your will
To make us well

And draw us near
Oh bide us tight
All your children here
In their rags of light
In our rags of light
All dressed to kill
And end this night

If it be your will

Video hit The Doors

The Doors - Love Me Two Times

"Love Me Two Times" is a song by The Doors.
It was written by the band and first appeared on the 1967 album Strange Days. It was released as the second single (after "People Are Strange") from that album, and reached number 25 on the charts in the US.
Ray Manzarek played the final version of this song on a harpsichord, not a clavichord. See Ray Manzarek's book Light My Fire on page 258.
"Love Me Two Times" was considered to be somewhat risqué for radio airplay.
The lyrics were written by guitarist Robby Krieger. According to band members, the song was about a soldier/sailor on his last day with his girlfriend before shipping out, ostensibly to war (Vietnam).

Video hit Awolnation

Awolnation - Sail

"Sail" is a song by American electronic rock band Awolnation.
It was written and produced in Venice, California by group member Aaron Bruno, with Kenny Carkeet performing the audio engineering. The song was first featured on the band's debut extended play Back from Earth (2010) and was later featured on their debut album Megalithic Symphony (2011).
Released as a single on January 4, 2011, "Sail" is the band's most commercially successful song to date. It debuted at number 89 on the United States Billboard Hot 100 chart in September 2011, spending twenty weeks on the chart before dropping out. The single re-entered the Hot 100 a year later, becoming a massive sleeper hit and reaching a new peak of number 17. It has spent the second longest time inside the Billboard Hot 100 chart, with 79 weeks, only surpassed by Imagine Dragons' "Radioactive".
In July 2010, Austin DJ Toby Ryan premiered the song on KROX-FM and the response from the listeners was positive.
"Sail" debuted at number 89 on the United States Billboard Hot 100 singles chart on the week of September 3, 2011. The single spent twenty weeks on the chart before dropping out following the issue date of January 14, 2012. It eventually re-entered in mid-2013; its use in various television shows and advertisements exposed the song to a wider audience.
Following its appearance in a History trailer promoting Vikings, weekly downloads "more than tripled". The song has since spent more than a year on the chart and peaked at number 17 on the Hot 100 in its 56th week on the chart, two years after its initial debut.
"Sail" was certified triple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America in June 2013, and by April 2014, it has sold over 5 million digital copies in the US.
"Sail" also peaked at number five on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart in 2011.
The song was featured in the introduction of the 2012 film Disconnect. Due to its extremely unusual longevity, it has become the only song in the history of the Hot 100 to spend a year on the chart without entering the top 20 first.
In Australia and New Zealand the song peaked in September 2013 reaching number 27 on the Australian Music Chart, and number 33 on the New Zealand Music Chart. In the United Kingdom the song peaked at number 17 on the UK Singles Chart in January 2014.
The lyrics:
Sail!

This is how I show my love
I made it in my mind because
I blame it on my A.D.D. baby

This is how an angel dies
I blame it on my own supply
Blame it on my A.D.D. baby

Sail!
Sail!
Sail!
Sail!
Sail!

Maybe I should cry for help
Maybe I should kill myself (myself)
Blame it on my A.D.D. baby

Maybe I'm a different breed
Maybe I'm not listening
So blame it on my A.D.D. baby

Sail!
Sail!
Sail!
Sail!
Sail!

La la la la la
La la la la la oh!
La la la la la,
La la la la la oh!
La la la la la,
La la la la la,

Sail!
Sail!
Sail!
Sail!

Sail with me into the dark
Sail!
Sail with me into the dark
Sail!
Sail with me into the dark
Sail!
Sail with me

Sail!

Video hit Red Hot Chili Peppers

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Under the Bridge

"Under the Bridge" is a song by American rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers, released on October 10, 1991 as the second single from the group's fifth studio album, Blood Sugar Sex Magik.
Vocalist Anthony Kiedis wrote the lyrics to express feelings of loneliness and despondency, and to reflect on narcotics and their impact on his life.
Kiedis initially did not feel "Under the Bridge" would fit into the Chili Peppers' repertoire and was reluctant to show it to his band mates until producer Rick Rubin implored him to do so. The rest of the band was receptive to the lyrics and wrote the music.
The song became a critical and commercial success, peaking at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 and later certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.
The single's success was widened with the release of its accompanying video, which was frequently played on music television channels. It won the "Viewer's Choice Award" and "Breakthrough Video" at the 1992 MTV Video Music Awards.
"Under the Bridge" allowed the Red Hot Chili Peppers to enter the mainstream. David Fricke of Rolling Stone said the song "unexpectedly drop-kicked the band into the Top 10", while Philip Booth of The Tampa Tribune commented that it was a "pretty, undulating, [and] by-now omnipresent single." Its success led in part to the departure of guitarist John Frusciante, who preferred the band to remain underground.
The song has become an inspiration to other artists, and remains a seminal component of the alternative rock movement of the early and mid-1990s.
"Under the Bridge" follows "Give It Away" as the band's second most performed live song, having been performed over 600 times.
The lyrics:
Sometimes I feel
Like I don't have a partner
Sometimes I feel
Like my only friend
Is the city I live in
The city of Angels
Lonely as I am
Together we cry

I drive on her streets
'Cause she's my companion
I walk through her hills
'Cause she knows who I am
She sees my good deeds and
She kisses me windy and
I never worry
Now that is a lie

I don't ever wanna feel
Like I did that day
Take me to the place I love
Take me all the way
I don't ever want to feel
Like I did that day
Take me to the place I love
Take me all that way (yeah yeah yeah)

It's hard to believe
That there's nobody out there
It's hard to believe
That I'm all alone
At least I have her love
The city she loves me
Lonely as I am
Together we cry

I don't ever wanna feel
Like I did that day
Take me to the place I love
Take me all the way
I don't ever want to feel
Like I did that day
Take me to the place I love
Take me all the way (yeah yeah yeah)
Ooh no (no no yeah yeah)
Love me I say yeah yeah

Under the bridge downtown
Is where I drew some blood
Under the bridge "
I could not get enough
Under the bridge "
Forgot about my love
Under the bridge "
I gave my life away (yeah yeah yeah)
Ooh no (no no yeah yeah)
Here I stay yeah yeah

Here I stay...

Video hit Sting

Sting - In Darkness Let Me Dwell

Songs from the Labyrinth is a 2006 album of recordings of the music of John Dowland by Sting and Bosnian lutenist Edin Karamazov.
The album was released and re-released in several versions: LP vinyl and CD editions with 23 tracks, a CD/DVD edition with 8 tracks on the CD and a DVD documentary, The Journey and the Labyrinth (released in both "CD size" and "DVD size" packaging), and a CD re-release with 26 tracks (including live versions of Sting's own "Fields of Gold" and "Message in a Bottle", originally recorded with The Police).
In late August 2013, a "Dowland Anniversary Edition" was released, which includes 32 tracks on one CD (the full original album, six live versions of album tracks and Sting's non-Dowland live songs), as well as a DVD with the original documentary.
For the original CD program, the music was composed by John Dowland except for "Have You Seen the Bright Lily Grow", a song by Dowland's contemporary Robert Johnson.
The 2008 re-release adds two live recordings of Sting-penned songs performed on lutes, as well as a live recording, in the same style, of "Hellhound on My Trail" by another Robert Johnson - the Delta blues musician, and an alternate version of "Have You Seen the Bright Lily Grow".
The latter is omitted from the 2013 "Dowland Anniversary Edition" of the album, which, however, includes all of the live recordings.
The track list includes readings from a letter by Dowland to Robert Cecil, 1st Earl of Salisbury.
The lyrics to many of Dowland's songs are anonymous.
The lyrics:
In darkness let me dwell; the ground shall sorrow be,
The roof despair, to bar all cheerful light from me;
The walls of marble black, that moist'ned still shall weep;
My music, hellish jarring sounds, to banish friendly sleep.
Thus, wedded to my woes, and bedded in my tomb,
O let me dying live, till death doth come, till death doth come.

In darkness let me dwell

Video hit Oasis

Oasis - Whatever

"Whatever" is a song and single by the English rock band Oasis, and initially credited as being written by the band's lead guitarist Noel Gallagher. A subsequent lawsuit awarded a co-writing credit to Neil Innes.
Like many other songs in the band's catalogue, "Whatever" preaches the importance of being yourself and being able to do what you choose.
At six minutes and twenty-one seconds, it was the longest single the band had released up to that point (it would soon be surpassed by "Champagne Supernova" and later "D'You Know What I Mean?" and "All Around the World") and was a more lavish affair than their previous singles, as it was the first of many Oasis singles that included a prominent string section.
The song begins with a simple verse-chorus-verse-chorus structure, with the main hook of the song occurring in the verse rather than the chorus. The song suddenly changes key during the bridge, before returning to the main chord progression of the song, which repeats for a two-and-a-half-minute outro in which, one by one, each instrument cuts out until only the strings are playing. Finally, the song ends with an extended, recorded applause track. A common word on the Japanese festivals' mikoshi is used at the end of the song.
The single was released on 18 December 1994 as a stand-alone single, bridging the gap between Oasis' debut album, Definitely Maybe, and their second album, (What's the Story) Morning Glory?.
"Whatever" entered the UK Singles Chart at number 3, their first single to enter the top 5, something every Oasis single released since has also accomplished, aside from the download-only single "Lord Don't Slow Me Down", "I'm Outta Time" and "Falling Down". Like "Lord Don't Slow Me Down", this is a non-album release, but as it is a single it has been included on the compilation album Time Flies... 1994–2009 which features all 26 of Oasis' officially released singles. The strings were played by the London Philharmonic Orchestra which featured former Electric Light Orchestra violinist Wilf Gibson. The strings were arranged by Nick Ingham and Noel Gallagher.
"Whatever" spent a total of 51 weeks on the UK Singles chart, more than any other Oasis single to date.
"Whatever" re-entered the UK Singles chart on 20 June 2010 at number 64, due to the release of Time Flies, and the first time that "Whatever" has been available to purchase digitally.
Recently the song has been used by Coca-Cola in its new campaign celebrating its 125th anniversary and also in Italian Vodafone Commercials.
It was also used by Asahi Breweries for their Asahi Off beer commercials in Japan.
The lyrics:
I'm free to be
Whatever I, whatever I choose
And I'll sing the blues if I want

I'm free to say
Whatever I, whatever I like
If it's wrong or right it's alright

Always seems to me, you only see
What people want you to see
How long's it gonna be?

Before we get on the bus
And cause no fuss
Get a grip on yourself
It don't cost much

Free to be
Whatever you, whatever you say
If it comes my way it's alright

You're free to be
Wherever you, wherever you please
You can shoot the breeze if you want

It always seems to me, you only see
What people want you to see
How long's it gonna be

Before we get on the bus
And cause no fuss
Get a grip on yourself
It don't cost much

I'm free to be
Whatever I, whatever I choose
And I'll sing the blues if I want

Here in my mind
You know you might find
Something that you
You thought you once knew

But now it's all gone
And you know it's no fun
Yeah I know it's no fun
Oh, I know it's no fun

I'm free to be
Whatever I, whatever I choose
And I'll sing the blues if I want

I'm free to be
Whatever I, whatever I choose
And I'll sing the blues if I want

Whatever you do
Whatever you say
Yeah, I know it's alright

Whatever you do
Whatever you say

Yeah, I know it's alright

Video hit Linkin Park

Linkin Park - Until It's Gone
"Until It's Gone" is a song written by American rock band Linkin Park.
The song was originally recorded by the band for their sixth studio album, The Hunting Party, where it appears as the seventh track on the album. Produced by Mike Shinoda and Brad Delson, the track also appears on the single of the same name, which was released by Warner Bros. Records and Machine Shop on May 6, 2014. The single is the second to be released in promotion of The Hunting Party.
The single is also included in the music for the action-adventure video game Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark, which was released on June 24, 2014.
AltWire explains it as a "beginning with a synth line similar to 'Numb' from the 2003 album Meteora, taking a sharp turn to an unexpected brooding goth rock anthem, proving to be one of the songs on the 6-track sampler of the album in recent memory; with a choir-like backing vocals and intense orchestral backdrops that stays and impacts after 'it's gone.'
Similar to the band's fourth studio release A Thousand Suns in 2010, Bennington looks back in a failed relationship, and it wouldn't be out of place, if it weren't for expecting for the band's next single being given with its highly memorable sound and powerful memories.
The lyrics:
A fire needs a space to burn
A breath to build a glow
I've heard it said a thousand times
But now I know

That you don't know what you've got
Oh you don't know what you've got
No you don't know what you've got
Until It's Gone
Until It's Gone
Until It's Gone

I thought I kept you safe and sound
I thought I made you strong
But something made me realize
That I was wrong
'Cause finding what you got sometimes
Means finding it alone
And I can finally see your light
When I let go

'Cause you don't know what you've got
Until It's Gone
Until It's Gone
Until It's Gone

Until It's Gone
Until It's Gone
Until It's Gone
Until It's Gone
Until It's Gone

'Cause you don't know what you've got
Oh you don't know what you've got
No you don't know what you've got
It's your battle to be fought
No you don't know what you've got
Until It's Gone
Until It's Gone

Until It's Gone

Ce poti afla in saracie?

Bonnie Tyler - Loving You's A Dirty Job (But Somebody's Gotta Do It)

Loving You's a Dirty Job but Somebody's Gotta Do It is a pop song written and composed by Jim Steinman and has been released in 1986 by Bonnie Tyler in duet with Todd Rundgren.
The song appears on Bonnie Tyler's album Secret Dreams and Forbidden Fire.
A promotional video was made for the song which featured Hywel Bennett who was miming to the Todd Rundgren lines.
The lyrics:
When the sky is falling and you're looking round for somewhere to hide
Did you ever call out to someone, did you ever call out to me

I've never been gone, I've been right here by your side
There ain't nothin' but clouds, there ain't nothin' but clouds in your eyes

Why don't you believe it when you finally found the truth
You've been drinking poison water from the fountain of youth

Why don't you stop tearing up everyone you need the most
You're so busy trying to get even, you never even try to get close

I can't explain it away, it doesn't make any sense
To know what it's like, I guess you gotta go through it
I guess you gotta go through it, I guess you gotta go through it
It doesn't matter, baby

Loving you's a dirty job
But somebody's gotta do it

There were times when we'd never fake it
There were times when we'd always make it
There were times when we'd take it to the limit
And we'd never, never, ever leave each other alone

We were flesh and blood and bone
There were times we had it all
There were times we had it all

There were times when we took our chances
There were times when we were damn good dancers
There were times when we heard all the answers
In the beating of the drummer and the riches of the rock and the roll

I can see right through your soul
There were times we had it all
There were times we had it all

If your fears could only be forgotten, we could pull all of the barriers down
Would you follow your dreams' desire
Would you follow your secret dreams and forbidden fire
Let's just peel out of this town

It's been nothing but dreams
It's been nothing but dreams until now

You're never gonna see it
You got your head stuck in the sand
It's the land of the free and easy Street
It's the home of the damned

You're never gonna see it
You better open up your eyes
You're the only one who's left
Who's gonna believe all your lies

I can't explain it away, it doesn't make any sense
To know what it's like, I guess you gotta go through it
I guess you gotta go through it, I guess you gotta go through it
It doesn't matter, baby

Loving you's a dirty job
But somebody's gotta do it

There were times when our bodies glistened
There were times that we can't stop missing
There were times that we'd lay in bed and listen
To the pounding, pounding chorus of our desperate hearts

Nothing could have torn us apart
There were times we had it all
There were times we had it all

There were times when we fought like tigers
There were times we were damn good liars
There were times we extinguished every fire
That was burning, burning, burning up each other alive

From the heavens on down to the dives
There were times we lost it all
There were times we lost it all

There were times when we fought like tigers
There were times we were damn good liars

There were times when our bodies glistened
There were times that we can't stop missing
There were times that we'd lay in bed and listen
To the pounding, pounding chorus of our desperate hearts

Nothing could have torn us apart
There were times we had it all
There were times we had it all

It's a dirty job, loving you, baby
Somebody's gotta do it

It's a dirty job, loving you, baby
Somebody's gotta do it

It's a dirty job, loving you, baby

Somebody's gotta do it
